This is LLC Mistakes Guide, a single-subject site covering mistakes commonly made when forming and running an LLC, and what each one costs to correct. Nothing else gets added to the remit just because it would attract traffic.

Scope

In scope: mistakes commonly made when forming and running an LLC, and what each one costs to correct, the options available, and how they differ from one another in practice.

Out of scope: adjacent subjects that would broaden the site without making it more useful, and news coverage, which goes stale faster than it can be maintained.

What gets written here

Write-ups of individual options, head-to-head comparisons between two of them, and plain explanations of the terms that come up along the way.

Pages are written one at a time and published when they are finished, rather than generated in a batch to fill a directory.

How pages are put together

Where one option is better than another for a given job, that is said in words, with the reason attached. It is never expressed as a number.

• No description of testing that did not take place.
• Pricing and feature claims are checked against the vendor’s own pages, and dated where the page says so.
• Where something is genuinely unclear, the page says it is unclear rather than guessing.
